About Matt
Who is Matt Coleman?

I have been very happy to call North Royalton home for the past 25 years with all it has provided to our family. My wife, Jane, and I bought our first house together in North Royalton in 1999. There are few experiences like listening to the North Royalton High School Marching Band take the field at half time on a cool autumn Friday evening under the lights, or watching the fireworks light up the sky over the city center on a warm summer evening. The North Royalton School District provided an excellent education for our two children, and the investment the community has made in the new elementary school and revitalized high school demonstrate the value our community places on learning and all the experience that can provide.
As an avid biker and motorcyclist, I appreciate North Royalton’s proximity to the Cleveland Metroparks system, and I’ve enjoyed more miles than I can count on the roads and trails that wind from Lake Erie down the Cuyahoga River valley, and around the “Emerald Necklace” to the Rocky River. When the weather allows, I’m happy to commute on my motorcycle and enjoy the ride to my work in downtown Cleveland, where I’ve worked in IT for many years with companies like the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and Sherwin-Williams.
When not out riding, Jane and I can usually be found working on our gardens, enjoying a quiet afternoon in the back yard, or meeting with friends at one of North Royalton’s local restaurants. When our children were young, we were very fortunate to have been welcomed into the communities of the public schools, and we were active in the PTA and marching band and a variety of school activities. Now it’s wonderful to see young families moving into the neighborhood, just like we did in 1999. We’ve greatly enjoyed meeting our new Ward 1 neighbors, and I look forward to serving our community and ensuring that everyone is as happy as I am to live here.
