The weeks of beautiful, dry weather have been perfect for traveling around Ward 1 meeting residents. I upgraded my ride, and now “it’s that guy on the bike!” as one very young resident observed recently. And it looks like that trend is going to continue.
I’ve met some residents who are starting to get a little weary of people knocking on the door, and for those that just wave and say “we’re good, thanks”, please know I appreciate your patience with me knocking on the door, too. It’s good to see you!
There has been a tremendous positive response to the No on Issue 25 topic, too. Nearly everyone I’ve spoken with is either just finding out about it and want to know why I’m encouraging residents to vote “no,” or are already informed and plan to vote “no.” I’ll have a post up about that soon. I have yet to meet a single resident that is in favor of this issue.
And it’s time to meet the candidates! This Saturday, October 11 from 9:30-11:00am at the North Royalton branch of the Cuyahoga County Pubic Library, you can meet the candidates that are voting NO on Issue 25. Please come and enjoy donuts, coffee and some great conversation, I really enjoy meeting residents, listening to their questions, and taking time to connect.
I’ve sent out my first newsletter to everyone that signed up on the website, and the response has been really gratifying. Being able to inform Ward 1 residents about what’s happening with the Albion Elementary site and other up-and-coming topics is an important part of why I decided to run: local government works best when residents are informed and have the opportunity to be engaged. If you would like to sign up for the newsletter, please click here.
Uphill or downhill, I’m rolling with this ride, and it has been a lot of fun and a real honor to meet so many great folks in Ward 1! See you out there!
