This spring has been challenging, with many rainy and cool days. When the sun shines, it is time to ride! I was fortunate to get out on the bicycle and ride the Valley Parkway from West 130th to Wallace Lake on a beautiful morning. Then took the motorcycle for a ride to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, with a brief stop to check on the corn rows just starting to grow at Szalay’s farm in Peninsula.
The cooler weather means an extra layer or two when outside, and it also means the iris will bloom longer. This time of year can be hit and miss, if it warms up earlier the iris will bloom quickly and then fade. This year, they are very happy with all the rain, and will last longer in the cool temperatures. It’s been fun to see what’s growing and blooming in the gardens in the neighborhood.
